ENTRY FORMS: All Sokol members and non-members alike are invited to participate in the 15th ANNUAL SOKOL USA FARRELL OPEN FOUR PERSON GOLF SCRAMBLE at Shenango Lake Golf Club; 99 Birchwood Dr., Transfer, PA 16154.

    • DONATION AND HOLE SPONSOR INFORMATION: Sokol USA Farrell is a non-profit organization with an office and gymnasium in the Slovak Home, 800 Spearman Avenue, Farrell, PA 16121. All contributions to this event are Federal tax deductible; a receipt will be provided upon request. We are requesting sponsorships; monetary donations and merchandise for our15th annual golf scramble. Any help you or your organization can offer to support this event will be greatly appreciated.

The 10th Annual Sokol Farrell Golf Scramble 

 

For Sokol Farrell, the second Saturday in June has been the perfect day to hold our 4 Person 
Open Golf Scramble!! Once again, the sun was shining, only a few large white clouds in the sky 
and the humidity was comfortable. All of this in a year when, as we all know, rain has been the 
order of the day since warm weather arrived. 

 

But, our President and Chairman of this event, Bro. Tim Brandt resolved to make this year even 
more special since this year marked the tenth time we have successful conducted this event. 
To mark the event, special embroidered back packs were given to all participants… boldly 
announcing “10th ANNUAL – SOKOL USA FARRELL GOLF SCRAMBLE”. As usual, T shirts were also 
given to all but, in addition, the women’s shirts had a special V neck cut. 

 

A special “Thanks!” goes to our Sokol members who traveled a distance to take part, the 
Cernicky family from Sokol New Kensington and the Yatchyshyn family from Sokol Pen Argyle. 

 

This continues to be a fun event and so for the tenth consecutive year, Chairman Brother Tim 
Brandt gave the final instructions at 9: OO AM under sunny skies. Again, as a special 
recognition of the 10th Anniversary, the prizes were increased from three awards to four: 1st 
Place Team Prize: $800 per team; 2nd Prize: $400 per team; 3rd Prize: $200 per team; and 
additionally, 4th Prize: $100 per team as “RANDOM DRAW 

 

Additionally, there was a $5,000 prize for ANY “hole in one” on the designated number 9 
hole. Unfortunately, no one claimed this prize. This award is sponsored by Brother Melvin and 
Sister Dorothy Slezak. Additional opportunities to win were by a 50/50 raffle; a $5.00 Skins 
Game; a Bet Hole and Prize Boards. 

 

All 125 participants received a 12 oz. Ribeye Steak, with all the trimmings, refreshments, food 
at the turn, plus a great round of golf with a cart thrown in. Keep an eye on our website to get 
the information for next year... June 13, 2020. 

 

Thanks to all of our workers… without them, this event would be impossible.
